Welcome to the Fund for Investigative Journalism's online portal for applying for grants and fellowships for investigative projects. We are dedicated to supporting journalists and promoting investigative reporting around the world. If you have any questions about the application process, please refer to our FAQ page on our website. We have provided answers to commonly asked questions to assist you.


If you cannot find the answer to your question in the FAQ section, please feel free to email us at grants@fij.org. We are here to help and will respond to your inquiries as soon as possible. If you prefer to discuss your query over the phone, kindly mention it in your email, and we will arrange a call with a representative who can assist you further. We encourage you to reach out to us before the application deadline; we are more than happy to provide any necessary support.


Once the application deadline has passed, the Board of Directors will review and vote on all eligible proposals. We understand the importance of timely communication, and therefore, approximately six weeks after the deadline, you will receive an email notifying you of the board's decision regarding your application. However, if you have requested an expedited review and it has been granted, you will receive the board's decision within approximately two weeks.
