Poem: |”In the Heart's Shadow: A Journey Through Grief and Love"

In the heart's shadow, where love and sorrow blend,

Grief takes a seat, an uninvited guest.

Its presence, heavy, like a ceaseless wind,

Echoes through chambers where memories rest.

It rides on waves of love that once were pure,

Now laced with pain, a bitter, biting sting.

Yet, even in the darkness, we endure,

For love is stronger than the hurt it brings.

Loneliness whispers in the silent night,

An echo of laughter, now turned to sighs.

Yet, in the ache, there blooms a softer light,

The dawn of acceptance in tear-streaked eyes.

Pain, like a tempest, rages deep within,

A storm of sadness, a torrent of tears.

Yet, amid the fury, healing begins,

In the quiet moments, mindfulness appears.

We admire the strength we never knew we had,

Resilience rising from the depths of despair.

Therapy, a beacon, when times are bad,

A safe harbor in the tumultuous air.

Sorrow seeps into the soul's quiet crevices,

Agony pulses with each heart's heavy beat.

Yet, in the heartache, a truth surfaces,

That love, even in loss, remains complete.

Anger flares, a fire fanned by the winds of loss,

A blaze that burns, fueled by the unfair.

Yet, as the flames flicker, we come across,

A love that lingers, undiminished, there.

In the heart's shadow, where grief makes its stay,

Love remains, a constant guiding star.

Through every sorrow, every tear-streaked day,

It reminds us of who, and who’s, we truly are.

The hands represent the support and love that we can receive from others during our grief. The broken heart represents the pain and sorrow of grief. The small plant growing from the cracks represents the growth and healing that can come from grief. The plant is a reminder that even in the midst of pain, there is always hope for new beginnings.
